ABOUT ME

Hello!I'm Ed Siderewicz. While walking past an art gallery window in Sedona, Arizona, my eye was drawn to a couple of stunning images of majestic canyons.  I asked the shop owner where I could find these canyons and was told these images were of Antelope Canyon in northern Arizona.Over the next several years, I kept noticing more images of Antelope Canyon; my desire increased to step into the mesmerizing beauty where light and shadow dance through the narrow sandstone passageways. These images were capturing for me the ethereal, flowing curves and vibrant colors of the canyon, showcasing nature's masterful artwork. Each image immersed me in the canyon's breathtaking formations, revealing the intricate textures and mysterious glow of this natural wonder.

Beauty stirs us

because it awakens our own beauty.

Finally, in 2012, I got to experience the wonder of Antelope Canyon in its full artistic brilliance, and it transported me to a world where the earth’s ancient forces create timeless beauty.  I did my best to “take” 500 or so photos of my visit there with my phone.  I returned to Antelope Canyon again with my wife in 2018 with my first DSLR camera with a different vision, realizing I wasn’t there to “take” anything; rather, I was simply there to be in the presence of such beauty - to truly see and recognize the magnificence and to become a channel to reflect it back to others.

This was the start of my journey as a photographer, and some of the photos in my galleries reflect my travels through various countries: Spain, Switzerland, New Zealand, Canada, along with plenty of national parks in the United States.  Taking my camera along with me on these travels invited me to see through the lens of the camera in a different way: a way that was more intentional and with a vision in mind.  I came to understand that the beauty we see is but a reflection of our own beauty. This beauty stirs us, because it awakens our own deep beauty.

A couple of years after my last trip to Antelope Canyon, I reached out to a professional photographer who I had met.  Bernardita Aguirre lives in Chile (South America).  After asking Bernardita about too many photo tips on the trip through Antelope, she let me know she offered 1:1 virtual sessions to learn the art of photo editing.  It was my desire to elevate the level of my photography that drove the process because my lack of confidence certainly did not.  If I can learn this, you can as well.
